Obituary

Lucille E. Robbins, age 92, was welcomed into the loving arms of God April 25, 2023 following a brief illness. Born September 5, 1930 to Herbert Edmonds and Rosa James Edmonds of Warren County, N.C., one of eleven children. She was pre-deceased by her parents; her first husband, Winfred I. Perkinson; brothers, Edwin Edmonds, Lawrence Edmonds, Arthur Gray Edmonds, Harold Edmonds, James Herbert Edmonds; sisters, Alice Collier, Edith Collier, Anna Rosa Shearin, and Margaret Hobgood.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harry E. (Barney) Robbins, sons Larry, I. Perkinson (Lisa), Mark K. Perkinson (Winston), Harry E. (Gene) Robbins, III (Susan), stepson, and brother Roy Edmonds (Roberta), grandchildren, Heather Mangum (Matt) and Jason K. Perkinson (Ember), step-grandchildren, Harry E. Robbins IV, Captain Jillian Heide, Victoria R. Robbins, Kathryn A. Robbins, Melissa Robbins; great-grandchildren, Hayden Mangum, Maddox Mangum, Zelica Faye Perkinson; step-great-grandchildren, Daniel Lee Heide, Trinity E. Bridge; several nieces and nephews, particularly Deborah Snyder and Stephanie Clark and numerous friends.

Lucille was employed by the Sheetmetal Workers Local 100 for a number of years and then Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local #10 for 30 years as office administrator. She was a long-time member of Webber Memorial Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 60 years. She was a Life Member of the Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad (Auxiliary).

Lucille and Barney were blessed and fortunate to be able to travel extensively in their retirement going to Africa, Israel (twice), the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and two Mississippi River cruises.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Manchester Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary would be appreciated.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 6pm-8pm at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, N. Chesterfield. A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Webber Memorial Baptist Church, 7800 Salem Church Rd in N. Chesterfield with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
