Obituary
Mary Gene Fens, 69, of N. Chesterfield, passed away peacefully and into the loving arms of her heavenly father on Saturday, February 17, 2018. By her side, as always, was her loving husband of 50 years, Mr. Johannes C. Fens, Sr. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Thomas Fens. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her eight children, Johannes C. Fens, Jr. (Holly), Peter Fens (Alice), Chris Fens (Amy), Jeannie Oliver (William), David Fens (Elise), Terri Fens (Heather), Catherine Fens (Archie) and Lisa Moss (Joe) and her daughter-in-law, Candice Fens; siblings, Layne Chaffin, Thomas Dawson (Suzanne), William Dawson (Sarah) and Therese Ann Kambach (George). She is also survived by her 26 grandchildren, all of whom she loved quite dearly. Gene had an amazing, selfless spirit and touched so many lives. She will be dearly missed by all and forever remembered by her large, loving family. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Rd. N. Chesterfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.

So sorry about the loss of your Mom. Bill and I will be praying for your renewed strength thru this. The Father will hold you and your family up and keep you close thru this ordeal. In the days to come you will so miss her, please try to remember she is in glory and let Jesus hold you.

Sending prayers, thoughts, and love. Gene touched my heart when I sang in the children’s choir years ago. She became part of the core St. Augustine’s Church Family that I had the privilege to grow up in and love. I love her dearly and always enjoyed coming back and seeing her after mass to say hello and share a hug. Truly a saint. Love, Brittany
