Obituary

Salmon, Muriel Evans, 93, of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. She was born in Manchester, Richmond on October 13, 1916, to Robert Ellis and Lillian Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles N. Salmon. She is survived by daughter Diane S. Spencer and her husband Ralph, and sons Charles E. Salmon and his wife Carolyn, and Ted T. Salmon and his wife Debora; nine grandchildren, Tracey, Missy, Mary Stewart, Trevor, Brandon, Bo, Beth, Jessica, and Torie; eighteen great-grandchildren. She was also survived by her sisters, Sylvia Smith of Hixson, Tennessee, and Phyllis Bryant of Chesterfield, Virginia. Mrs. Salmon was a 60-year, and the oldest, member of Beulah United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 7 at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rt. 10). Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 at Beulah United Methodist Church, followed by a reception in the church fellowship hall. Private family interment. The family would like to express its gratitude to the caring staff at Hospice of Virginia at Retreat Hospital for their compassionate care of our mother in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, 6930 Hopkins Road, Richmond, VA 23234.
