Obituary

Sue “Carolyn” Peilecke, 85, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.

Born February 25, 1937, in Bluefield, WV, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Peilecke; her parents, Ervin and Sylvia Garst; and brothers, Harold and James Garst.

Carolyn was a retired Registered Nurse with the Department of Veterans Affairs with 33 years of service, most recently with Hunter Holmes McGuire Hospital. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering with St. Augustine Catholic Church. She welcomed everyone into her family. Her love for others and caring nature made her a woman that touched many lives.

She is survived by her loving sons James (Tracy), Randy, William and John (Stacey) Redmond; stepsons Dennis and Clifford (Tracy) Peilecke; grandsons, Cody (Taylor) and Caleb and their mother, Angela Redmond Jeffers; granddaughter, Brittany; and extended family, Michelle Chandler, Aaliyah and Izaih.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at Morrissett’s Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). Her mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Private interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Rd., N.
